Flow Calculation
Method: Conversion of water level and pipe size to fluid area; Conversion of local velocity reading to mean velocity; Multiplication of fluid area by mean velocity to equal flow rate.
Conversion Accuracy: ±2% of reading (Assumes pipe is 10 to 90% full and a level greater than 2 inches)*
*Proper site selection, sensor placement and flow profiling are recommended to achieve highest instrument accuracy.

Ordering Information

Standard Model 253 flowmeter includes modified NEMA 4X electronics enclosure with clear cover, electromagnetic velocity/level sensor with non-fouling electrodes, 30' sensor cable, two backlit LCD displays (one display for totalized flow and one display for level, velocity, and flow), 19 key numerical keypad, site set-up of flowmeter via menu-driven software, one flow proportional contact closure, one 4-20 mA output of flow rate, electronics heater, password protection, battery back-up, and one instruction manual.

Intrinsically Safe Option includes Certified Intrinsically Safe version that includes an Intrinsically Safe Sensor Barrier (ISSI) with 50' of interconnection cable to the electronics package and includes the Intrinsically Safe Interface with ceramic sensor with 90° cable exit available with 30' or 60' of sensor cable or Intrinsically Safe Interface with ceramic sensor with 45° cable exit available with 30' or 60' of sensor cable.

Options include additional 4-20 mA outputs of velocity and/or level, extended sensor cable available in 20' increments with maximum un-spliced cable length of 100' and maximum cable length spliced 500' - Not applicable to CE Packaged or Intrinsically Safe units, sun shield, stainless steel tags, ceramic sensor, extended level range, choice of 12 or 24 VDC input power and additional instruction manuals.
