The Flo-System Model 253 Open Channel Permanent Flowmeter is your most cost effective solution for the accurate measurement of open channel flows in round, rectangular, oval and egg shaped conduits. The Model 253 does not require additional costs for site construction/modification of primary devices such as weirs or flumes.

Flow measurement is based on the equation:

Q = V x A where:

Q = Flow
V = Average Velocity
A = Area.

The measurement of both velocity and level in the same cross-section of pipe is critical for accurate flow rate determination, including surcharge conditions.
